Midfielder Brian Farber reflects back on the 2009 season - his first with the Timbers. He opens up about why his playoff beard ranks among his favorite moments of the season, the thought of playing indoor during the offseason and more in an end-of-season edition of Video News.
Farber, 27, appeared in 29 matches for Portland and record three goals and four assists; his assists total ranked among team leaders. Among his three regular-season strikes, he recorded the team's first goal of the season on May 2 against the Carolina RailHawks at PGE Park. A Northwest native, Farber also delivered two crucial goals in the Timbers' semifinal playoff series against Northewest rival the Vancouver Whitecaps in October.
Between seasons, Farber has enjoyed a productive professional indoor soccer career with the Stockton Cougars. Over the last four indoor seasons, he has collected 76 goals and 36 assists in 90 contests. Last season, Farber garnered Premier Arena Soccer League-Pro MVP honors and led the Cougars to a league title.
