United Soccer Leagues announced today that Portland Timbers forward
Chris Brown
was selected to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 21. Brown’s five-point performance guided the Timbers to a win over the Miami FC Blues last week.
Brown, 31, recorded an assist and two second-half goals in the Timbers’ 4-0 win over Miami on Sept. 4 at PGE Park. With his brace, Brown became the first Portland player to score multiple goals in a single game this season. Brown joins defender

on the list of Timbers who have received thee Team of the Week selections during the 2008 season.
In his first season with the Timbers, Brown leads the team in scoring with eight goals and two assists in 25 matches. He joined the Timbers following nine seasons in Major League Soccer with the Kansas City Wizards, New England Revolution, San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake.
The Timbers play host to the Charleston Battery in their regular-season home finale on Jersey-Off-Our-Back Night on Thursday presented by Fred Meyer. Fans can take home their favorite Timbers player’s game-worn Rose City red jersey through a special silent auction throughout the match. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Portland Beavers & Portland Timbers Community Fund. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
