The Portland Timbers lost 2-1 Saturday night against Minnesota United FC but for forward Felipe Mora, who scored in the 10th minute, his goal was notable.
Mora scored his second goal in as many games. He previously scored in second half stoppage time on Wednesday to lift Portland to a 2-1 win over LAFC.
Mora’s goal was his team-leading fourth of 2021—all of which have been scored by his head.
It was also Mora’s sixth headed goal of his MLS career. Since the start of 2020, Mora is tied for the most headed goals in MLS with RSL’s Damir Kreilach. Fellow Timbers Jaroslaw Niezgoda and Jeremy Ebobisse are tied for third with New England's Adam Buksa at four.
