Kosuke Kimura had a whirlwind week. Acquired on Thursday, he went straight from the airport to his first Timbers training session. Two days later, he as in the starting XI against Real Salt Lake in Sandy, UT.
While the game did not go according to plan given the 3-0 scoreline against Portland, Timbers fans were able to see a glimpse of some of the hustle and grit the former Colorado Rapids backliner possesses. Quick to track opponents, fast on the counter, and skilled at dispossessing the ball from attacking players, Kimura was a welcome addition to the Portland squad.
