Darlington Nagbe helps U.S. Men's National Team to 3-2 win over Iceland

Darlington Nagbe, USMNT, 1.31.15

Portland Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe came on in the 61st minute to help the U.S. Men's National Team beat Iceland 3-2 in a Sunday afternoon international friendly at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Nagbe, who has been training with the USMNT all month in their January camp, made his third career appearance for the national team. With the score tied at 2-2, Nagbe's second half play helped spark a dynamic attack as the U.S. looked for the game-winner. In the 90th minute, they found it when D.C. United's Steve Birnbaum headed home a chipped free kick from Toronto FC's Michael Bradley.

Nagbe was strong throughout his time on the pitch completing 24 of 25 passes (96%) and had a shot in the 77th minute that went just wide left of the post.

The U.S. next play Canada at the StubHub Center Friday at 7:15pm PT (FS1).
