USWNT to square off against Portugal on June 10, Jamaica on June 13, Nigeria on June 16
PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielders Crystal Dunn and Lindsey Horan, defender Becky Sauerbrunn, forward Sophia Smith and goalkeeper Adrianna Franch have been named to the 23-player U.S. Women’s National Team training camp roster for the 2021 WNT Summer Series in Texas from June 10-16, it was announced today.
The United States squares off against Portugal on June 10 in Houston, Texas at BBVA Stadium; kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. (Pacific). The USWNT returns to BBVA Stadium to take on Jamaica on June 13 at 7:00 p.m. (Pacific). Both the June 10 and June 13 matches will be broadcast on FS1. The team will then travel to Austin, Texas to face Nigeria on June 16 at Q2 Stadium; kickoff is 6 p.m. (Pacific) and will be broadcasted on ESPN2.
This will be Franch’s first call-up since the 2020 SheBelieves Cup, where she earned her fourth cap in a win over Japan to secure the tournament title. Dunn, Horan, Sauerbrunn and Smith were all selected to the Women’s National Team roster for a pair of friendlies in April 2021. Sauerbrunn (184 caps), Horan (93 caps) and Dunn (111 caps) all played 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Sweden in Stockholm on April 10. Sauerbrunn and Dunn played 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over France in Le Havre on April 13, and Horan and Smith (4 caps) made second-half appearances as substitutes.
