After a quiet start to the game, the Portland Timbers strike first. On a Portland throw-in to Frederic Piquionne, the forward heads straight to goal before finding a wide open Rodney Wallace in the left channel. Wallace takes one touch and fires with his left foot near post to make it 1-0 for the Timbers. The goal is Wallace's fourth of 2013 and sets a new career high.
Darlington Nagbe then performs a magic trick to make it 2-0. A long looping hopeful ball falls to him at the top of the DCU 18 yard box. He gathers, turns on two defenders and then shoots low to hit the back of the net. Great individual skill.
