Timbers goalkeeper selected for upcoming friendly matches
PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers goalkeeper James Pantemis has been called up to the Canadian Men’s National Team for a trio of friendly matches in the upcoming international window, the Canadian Soccer Association announced today.
Canada will open the window playing host to Chile (Sept. 26) at BMO Field, followed by matches against Peru (Oct. 3) at Stade Saputo and the United States (Oct. 6) at Allianz Field.
Pantemis, 29, made his senior international debut for Canada earlier this year, earning a 1-0 victory over Guatemala on January 17. For the Timbers, the Montréal native has logged 25 appearances this season, notably leading the league in saves with 112.
