PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers announced today that defender Juan David Mosquera has been called up by the Colombian Men’s National Team for the FIFA international period in December.

In preparation for Colombia’s two friendly matches against Venezuela and Mexico, Mosquera joined the senior national team this week for training camp in Bogotá, Colombia. Mosquera and Colombia will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to face the Venezuelan Men’s National Team at DRV PNK Stadium on Dec. 10 before taking on the Mexican Men’s National Team at United Airlines Field at the Memorial Coliseum on Dec. 16.

Mosquera, 21, made his debut with Colombia’s senior team on January 28, 2023, when he logged a full 90-minute performance against the U.S. Men’s National Team. Mosquera is set to join the senior national team for the fifth time in his career after making the roster for the first time in November (2022). Most recently, Mosquera was called into the Colombian squad to face Uruguay and Ecuador in two 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches in October. In September, the defender received a callup into Colombia’s U-23 Men’s National Team to play two friendlies against Mexico to prepare for the 2023 Pan American XIX Games and the 2024 South American Pre-Olympic Tournament.
