ST. PAUL, Minn. – Felipe Mora scored in the first half but two late goals for Minnesota United FC handed the Portland Timbers a 2-1 loss Saturday night at Allianz Field.

Match Moments

10' - GOAL (POR) - The Timbers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a beautiful headed goal from Felipe Mora. Starting in their own end, Diego Chara started the ball upfield before it was sprayed outside to Dairon Asprilla along the left sideline. Asprilla then sent a perfect diagonal aerial ball to Mora inside the 18-yard box to direct a glancing header into the back of the net.

25' - SAVE (POR) - On a Minnesota corner kick, the ball bounced free to Loons midfielder Robin Lod but Timbers goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic made a point-blank stop on the attempt.

49' - CHANCE (POR) - Set up on the left edge of the 18-yard box, midfielder Diego Valeri sent in a free kick that curled on frame forcing Minnesota goalkeeper Tyler Miller to push it over the bar. On the ensuing corner, defender Larrys Mabiala collected a loose ball and hit a rising shot that went over the net.

74' - GOAL (MIN) - Out of nothing, a blooped-in ball found defender Chase Gasper who headed the ball down into the lower left corner to tie the game at 1-1.

77' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic made a quick reaction save on a shot from Lod to keep the score even.

81' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic then made a diving save on an Ethan Finlay shot as a throughball had seen him through for Minnesota.

85' - GOAL (MIN) - Minnesota went ahead 2-1 as a long ball forward from midfielder Emanuel Reynoso found Lod in the box who slotted his shot past Ivacic and into the back of the net.

87' - CHANCE (POR) - Moments later, Mabiala dropped a ball up and over the top to the back post for Sebastián Blanco who volleyed his shot on frame but it was saved by Miller.
