MATCH RECAP | Portland Timbers 0, FC Dallas 0

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers, down to 10 men late in second half stoppage time, fought to a 0-0 draw with FC Dallas Saturday night at Providence Park. Portland limited Dallas to only one shot on target in picking up their team's ninth clean sheet of 2018.

Match Moments

25' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland, who had been cagey all first half, worked the ball down the right side. Diego Valeri and Andy Polo combined on a give-and-go that Polo put across the face of goal only to have it deflected out for a corner.

55' - CLEAR (POR) - A dangerous FC Dallas aerial cross found Cristian Colmán near the center of goal but Portland goalkeeper Jeff Attinella managed to leap into traffic and punch the ball away.

63' - CHANCE (POR) - Diego Chara picked off a Dallas pass near midfield and sprung Valeri down the left channel. Valeri dribbled in on goal, cut the ball back and hit a low shot that Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez collected.

73' - SAVE (POR) - On a mis-hit back pass from Larrys Mabiala, Dallas' Colmán intercepted it and hit a point-blank shot that Attinella parried away.

81' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland's Lucas Melano sprayed a ball out right to Zarek Valentin before taking off for the top of the 18-yard box. Valentin, spotting Melano's run, played the ball back with a long cross that Melano hit on the volley forcing a save from Dallas' Gonzalez.

90+4' - RED CARD (POR) - On a 50-50 ball in the Portland end, Liam Ridgewell went up for the ball against Roland Lamah. Referee Allen Chapman whistled for a straight red card against the Timbers defender leaving the home side with 10 men for the remainder of the match.
