COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – The Portland Timbers ended their three-game unbeaten streak with a 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids Saturday evening at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

22' - VAR NO GOAL (COL) - Colorado looked to have taken a 1-0 lead off a corner kick found the head of Rapids defender Lalas Abubakar. However, following a VAR review, referee Armando Villareal ruled that another player was offside and interfered with Portland goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic's ability to make a save.

28' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic alertly sprang to his left to deny a shot from Rapids forward Diego Rubio who had space at the top of the arc to make an attempt.

30' - GOAL (COL) - Moments later, Rubio put the Timbers down 1-0 when he curled a 20 yard free kick over the Timbers wall and into the back of the net.

42' - CHANCE (POR) - Yimmi Chara drove forward with the ball down the middle of the pitch. He sprayed it out to Dairon Asprilla to his left who quickly lofted it back across goal to Marvin Loría. Loría chested it down and fired on goal only to be denied by Rapids goalkeeper William Yarbrough who made a good save.

47' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic made a key save to deny a hard shot from Colorado's Jonathan Lewis in the 47th minute.

63' - RED CARD (COL) - Colorado went down to 10 men for the rest of the match when Diego Rubio earned his second yellow card and accompanying red for a foul.

69' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic had to make a big save as the Rapids raced through on a breakaway with Lewis free on goal but the Portland 'keeper stayed big to deny the point-blank shot.

83' - CHANCE (POR) - On a Portland free kick, Y. Chara sent a ball into the mixer that Zac McGraw snapped down with a header but Yarbrough jumped to his right to gather.

89' - CHANCE (POR) - A ball come back across the field for Santiago Moreno just inside the 18-yard box. He cut it back to his right but his shot was high over the bar.

90+1' - CHANCE (POR) - A ball found Asprilla at the top of the box. He expertly turned his defender but sent his his left-footed shot high.

90+5' - GOAL (COL) - With Portland chasing for an equalizer, they got caught out of position upfield as the Rapids hit on the counter. Mark-Anthony Kaye then scored for Colorado to put the Timbers down 2-0.
