NEW YORK (June 22, 2012) – The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Portland Timbers defender Hanyer Mosquera for three games and fined him an undisclosed amount for striking LA Galaxy forward Jack McBean in the 94th minute of the game on June 17. The Committee determined that Mosquera’s infraction was violent conduct, outside the scope of play and endangered McBean’s safety. Mosquera’s suspension will begin June 24 when the Timbers host Seattle Sounders FC.
Fines collected will be donated to the charitable partners of MLS W.O.R.K.S. and the MLS Players Union.
