Timbers announce roster status ahead of 2021 season

PORTLAND, Ore. – Following the conclusion of the 2020 season, the Portland Timbers today announced their current roster status for the 2021 season.


Players already under contract for the 2021 season include: Diego Chara, a 2020 MLS Best XI selection, Sebastián Blanco, the MLS is Back Player of the Tournament, Jeremy Ebobisse, an MLS is Back Tournament Best XI selection, Yimmi Chara, the club’s leader in assists in 2020, designated player Jaroslaw Niezgoda, Diego Valeri, Steve Clark, Dario Zuparic, Jorge Villafaña, Pablo Bonilla, Andy Polo, Marvin Loría, Bill Tuiloma, Tomás Conechny, Bill Tuiloma and Jeff Attinella.


The Timbers exercised the 2021 contract options on Eryk Williamson, Cristhian Paredes, Blake Bodily, Dairon Asprilla, Aljaz Ivacic, Julio Cascante, Zac McGraw and Renzo Zambrano.


The club has extended a bona fide offer to defender Marco Farfan for the upcoming season.


As previously announced, the Timbers signed academy goalkeeper Hunter Sulte to a Homegrown Player contract for the 2021 season.


Defender Larrys Mabiala is out of contract, but the Timbers remain in discussions with him for the 2021 season.


Forward Felipe Mora’s loan from Liga MX side Pumas UNAM expires at the end of the year however the Timbers remain in negotiations with the club.


Portland declined the options on midfielder Andrés Flores and defender Chris Duvall.

Defenders (7): Pablo Bonilla, Julio Cascante, Marco Farfan, Zac McGraw, Bill Tuiloma, Jorge Villafaña, Dario Zuparic


Midfielders (12): Dairon Asprilla, Sebastián Blanco, Blake Bodily, Diego Chara, Yimmi Chara, Tomás Conechny, Marvin Loría, Cristhian Paredes, Andy Polo, Diego Valeri, Eryk Williamson, Renzo Zambrano
