The Portland Timbers have finally hit the field for their first MLS training this week and there’s plenty of Timbers news, on and off the field.

Sports Illustrated's Steve Davis talks about the ten most intriguing figures in MLS. Numbers five and six are the Timbers' Darlington Nagbe and Merritt Paulson.

While on loan with Puerto Rico from Real Salt Lake last season, Timbers defender David Horst managed to shut down big forwards by the likes of Edson Buddle and Bright Dike. That experience will come up big for Horst in the future, as Timbers Insider reports.

Timbers forward Darlington Nagbe’s selection as the No. 2 overall pick in last month’s MLS SuperDraft was the pinnacle of a long journey for the Liberian-born Hermann Trophy winner.
