Portland Timbers acquire 2014 MLS SuperDraft pick from Houston Dynamo in exchange for rights to David Horst

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers have acquired a fourth-round pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for the rights to defender David Horst, it was announced today. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Horst, 28, played in 39 regular-season matches over three seasons in Portland, but missed most of the 2013 campaign due to injuries. Horst is a veteran of six MLS seasons with Real Salt Lake (2008-10) and Portland (2011-13), having played in 42 career MLS games.
