Timbers players set to visit hospital and host free youth soccer clinic in Portland on Sept. 16
PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers will host the community event ‘Rose City Road Trip’ presented by Providence and PIL Athletics in Portland on September 16, the club announced today. Rose City Road Trip returns for its 12th-annual edition and will include a visit to Providence Portland Medical Center along with a free youth soccer clinic.
The Rose City Road Trip will kick off on September 16 with Timbers players and mascot Timber Joey visiting patients at Providence Portland Medical Center. Afterwards, local youth are invited to a community meet-and-greet and autograph session at Da Vinci Arts Middle School from 4:45-5:45 p.m. before hosting a free youth soccer clinic on the field from 5:30-7:30pm PT.
“Helping children and families live healthier lives is at the heart of our mission,” said Sherri Kulink, chief executive of Providence Portland Medical Center. “We’re excited to partner with the Timbers to give kids a fun opportunity to stay active, learn new skills and make great memories.”
The clinic is free and open to the public, and participants must pre-register online by September 14 at the 2026 Providence Rose City Road Trip Registration Form.
This year marks the club’s 12th edition of the Rose City Road Trip. In all, the Timbers have offered rural camps in Klamath Falls, Salem, Eugene/Springfield, Portland, Bend, Hood River, Astoria, Medford, Newberg, Pendleton, Coos Bay, The Dalles, Corvallis, Seaside, Warrenton, and Vancouver, Wash.
