The scarf
Drawing on elements of the arts and crafts movement, artist JD Cox has created something that offers a nod to the past while being future forward. Filled with bold colors and pastel-hues, the 2025 Pride Scarf eloquently brings together the Timbers and Pride emblems on a black foreground, allowing it all to stand out and shine.
"Axes"
JD Cox's design begins with the "Axes" side, where they incorporate the Portland Timbers' crest and their biggest branding – the axe – onto the canvas along with a subtle reference to a spectrum rainbow in the handles. It's in those colors that JD Cox brings their expertise, describing the palette as "historical, but a little modern". Their placement of neon and brighter pastels over the black provides a modern take on the revered Timbers scarf.
"PORTLAND TIMBERS"
Looking to celebrate unity, transcendence, vibrancy, and joy in the 2sLGBTQIA+ community, the flip side of the 2025 Pride Scarf proudly presents the club's name in an elegant yet bold and colorful all-capitals lettermark. "Expression is important," says Cox. "It allows us to have a voice to share our experiences with other people."
