PTFC: From the Archives #Statman Edition | Rev up the chainsaw for Timbers vs Sounders in 2015

Adi Chainsaw, Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Sounders FC, 6.28.15

On June 28, 2015, the Portland Timbers defeated rival Seattle Sounders FC, 4-1, in a match that is most remembered for Fanendo Adi's celebration when he grabbed Timber Joey's chainsaw on the log stand as the Timbers Army went wild in the North End.

Tune in to FOX 12 Oregon KPTV on April 5, 2020 at 3pm PT to see a special rebroadcast of this memorable match and watch online at Timbers.com, presented by KeyBank. Here are five numbers to know for ahead of Sunday's rebroadcast.

2 in 2 Forward Fanendo Adi scored twice in a two-minute span in the second half to give the Timbers an insurmountable lead. It is the shortest amount of time between goals by the same player in club history.

3 The three-goal victory is tied for the largest victory for Portland in the 45-year rivalry between the clubs. The only other three-goal win for the Timbers in the series took place on June 11, 1977 with a 3-0 home victory.

4Midfielder Rodney Wallace iced the match with a goal in stoppage time. Wallace scored four times against the Sounders in competitive matches (MLS and U.S. Open Cup) which was the most Wallace scored for the club against any opponent.

11 In the match, the Timbers fired 11 shots on goal against their rivals. That is the second-most shots on target the club has ever had in an MLS match.

1+1 Midfielder Darlington Nagbe started the scoring in the 12th minute and then added an assist in the second half on Adi's first goal. In his 214 career MLS games with the club, it was one of four times Nagbe had both a goal and an assist in the same game.
