New Timbers forward Jorge Perlaza--fresh from the Cascadia Summit--sat down to answer a few questions about his eagerness to come to Portland and MLS.

How excited are you about coming to the U.S.? / Como te sientes de venir a jugar a los Estados Unidos (EEUU)?
Jorge Perlaza: For me, I am very proud to join the MLS where I hope to bring a great show and give the best of myself in each game.
Jorge Perlaza: Para mí, es un motivo de orgullo llegar a la MLS donde espero brindar un buen espectaculo y dar lo mejor de mi en cada presentacion con el equipo.
Tell us a little bit about meeting with Gavin Wilkinson. / Cuéntanos de tu reunión con Gavin Wilkinson?
JP: It was a very pleasant meeting and the most important thing is that we get along well together . I hope to wear the Portland Timbers jersey really soon and to be able to contribute as much as possible to the team.
JP: Fue una reunion muy agradable y lo importante es que ambos estamos a gusto. Espero pronto ponerme la camiseta de Portland y poder aportar mucho al equipo.
What is your familiarity with Major League Soccer (MLS)? / Que conoce de la liga profesional de los EEUU MLS?
JP: I know that it is a league that surprises you with the good players that arrive in it and each year, it will continue to be known more on a world level.
JP: Sé que es una liga que sorprende por los buenos jugadores que llegan y cada año se da a conocer más a nivel mundial.
Have you heard anything about Portland or our rabid supporters, the Timbers Army? / (alternativa) Que sabes sobre la ciudad de Portland o de la barra de fanáticos del equipo el ejercito de Los Timbers?
JP: I know that it is a city located in the Northwest of the United States where people take care of the natural resources. I only know a little about the Timbers Army, but I hope to get along well with them and that they are pleased with my play with the team.
JP: Séque es una ciudad ubicada al noroeste de estados unidos donde su gente cuida los recursos naturales. De la barra, conozco poco, pero espero llevarmela bien con ellos y poder agradar en cada presentación que tenga con el equipo.
What style of soccer do you like best? How do you feel your skills will fit in with the Timbers and Major League Soccer? / Que estilo de futbol te gusta más? Como piensas que tu habilidad va a encajar en el esquema de los Timbers y en general en la MLS?
JP: I like to play fast soccer with intelligent plays and give my everything in each game. I think that I am going to fit together well with the team and together with my team mates, we are going to have a great season.
JP: Me gusta jugar el fútbol rapido con movientos inteligentes y dar todo en cada partido. Pienso que voy a encajar muy bien en el equipo y que junto a los compañeros, vamos a tener una gran temporada.
What role do you think language will play in your adaption? / Crees que el idioma te puede afectar tu adaptación?
JP: I hope to be able to learn quickly and be able to adapt as quickly as possible to the team and the city of Portland.
JP: Espero poder aprenderlo rapidamente y adaptarme lo mas rápido posible al equipo y a la ciudad de Portland.
