Quick Strikes, Timbers vs. Chicago, 8.7.15

After a two-match road swing, the Portland Timbers return home for a Friday night clash with the Chicago Fire (8pm PT, KPDX). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvCHI in the latest Quick Strikes by Simple.

31 Since the 2013 MLS season, Portland has shut out its opponent 31 times. That is the second most during that time span, just one clean sheet behind Sporting Kansas City. The Fire, meanwhile, have 17 shutouts, the second fewest among MLS teams since 2013.

0 In their five matchups against the Chicago Fire, Portland has never lost. Since joining MLS in 2011, some of Portland's most famous milestone victories have come against the Fire including the club's first-ever win in MLS as well as the Timbers' first-ever league road victory.

7 The Timbers have showcased excellent home form this season, coming into Friday's match riding a seven-match home unbeaten streak. In contrast, the Fire are the only MLS team that has failed to win on the road this season and haven't won a road match since July 12, 2014.

150 With his next match, midfielder Darlington Nagbe will reach the 150 MLS matches played plateau. Only three MLS players have played more league games since 2011 than Nagbe, who has played the third most league matches across all eras in Timbers history.

88.7 This season, Portland has been one of the most accurate passing teams in MLS. Leading the way for the Timbers in passing accuracy are Will Johnson (89.07 percent), Jack Jewsbury (88.72 percent), and Nagbe (88.7 percent). Each member of that trio is in the top seven for passing accuracy among MLS players with at least 300 attempted passes.
