Road Report: A point on the road ... always good

Trailing by two goals, the Portland Timbers pulled off a 2-2 draw on the road against the Minnesota Thunder on Aug. 2 to pick up a point and remain in the hunt for a playoff spot. Filling in for Justin Thompson, defender Scot Thompson, who made two great kick saves in the first half on the goal line, detailed the team's quick trip to Blaine, Minn., in the latest edition of the road report.

Justin missed the match aginst the Thunder to due a one-game, league-imposed suspension for caution accumulation.

Another road trip down and another road trip where scenarios seemed stacked against us – travel, opposing fans, suspensions, etc. We were lucky enough to have some fans travel to Minnesota with us and the support was greatly appreciated.
Coming back from two goals down to tie the game was a tough feat, but I feel we should have won that game. It seems that all the breaks we caught last year are perhaps going against us this year; however getting a point on the road is always a good result.
The fact that we are in playoff contention is driving the boys throughout the week, but we definitely are continuing to pushing ourselves because the table is far from set and we have much better football ahead of us.
