The Portland Timbers moved into first place in the Western Conference with a 1-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park on Sunday night. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match. 


4Yimmi Chara scored the lone goal in the match, tallying his fourth goal of the season. Chara has scored two game-winning goals this season with both being home matches against Cascadia rivals (Seattle and Vancouver). 


18 With a give-and-go on Chara's goal, Jorge Villafaña now has 18 assists for his Timbers career. The 18 assists are the most by any defender in the club's all-era history. 


13 Playing in his 50th regular season game for the Timbers, goalkeeper Steve Clark delivered a shutout. Clark's 13 clean sheets tie him for second among Timbers goalkeepers for shutouts in MLS play with Adam Kwarasey.
