The Portland Timbers and San Jose Earthquakes combined for four second half goals as Portland defeated San Jose, 3-1, Saturday night at Providence Park. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match. 


2 Just two minutes after entering the match, forward Fanendo Adi scored for Portland. It is the second consecutive match a Timbers player has scored two minutes after entering the game (Darren Mattocks vs. FC Dallas). The two goals scored by Adi is also the 11th brace for him in his MLS career.


90+9 Adi scored both early in his appearance and late. The striker scored in the ninth minute of second half stoppage time, which is tied for the second latest stoppage time goal in MLS history and is the latest goal scored by the Timbers in a MLS regular-season match. 


5Zarek Valentin and Ned Grabavoyeach had five tackles in the match, which tied for the most in the match for Portland.
