T2 midfielder Villyan Bijev was named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 15 after recording a brace in a 3-3 draw on the road against Orange County SC on July 1.
Bijev opened the scoring when headed home midfielder Tomás Granitto’s delivery from a corner kick in the 31st minute of the match. Bijev completed his brace in the 85th minute after he converted his third penalty kick of the season to give T2 a 3-2 lead. With his two-goal performance, Bijev now leads the team with six goals on the season.
Next up, T2 return home to face LA Galaxy II at Providence Park on Sunday, July 9; kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (Pacific). Sunday's match will also be available via a live, high-definition web stream at www.timbers2.com.
