Thorns FC to match donations to The Bobby Menges I’m Not Done Yet Foundation

Bobby Menges wasn’t done yet, and neither are we.

Bobby, younger brother to Thorns FC defender Emily Menges, passed away last year following his brave battle with cancer. Following his passing, the Menges family set up the Bobby Menges I’m Not Done Yet Foundation to assist other youth/families facing childhood and adolescent cancer.

Beginning with today’s launch of the foundation’s campaign, the Thorns and Stand Together will match every donation made up to $5,000. Donate directly here: http://www.imnotdoneyetfoundation.org/

The Bobby Menges I’m Not Done Yet Foundation is focused on the transition of care for patients moving from childhood to adulthood in their battle against cancer. Transitional care was a passion of Bobby’s, as it was something that he lacked. The needs of a 19-year old are very different than the needs of a five year old, physically, mentally and emotionally. The Bobby Menges I’m Not Done Yet Foundation works in several different ways to support: they are creating age specific spaces in hospitals for adolescents and young adults, they are beginning to fund a research project to hone in on what is the most important things for this demographic throughout their care, as well as host fundraising events and blood drives.
