PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC forward Morgan Weaver has been added to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for January training camp in Austin, Texas from Jan. 19-28, it was announced today.
Weaver (2 caps) earned her first call-up to the full national team in November 2021, traveling with the USWNT to Australia for two matches. She earned her first international cap, making a substitute appearance on Nov. 27 in a 3-0 win, and earned her second cap on Nov. 30 in a substitute role.
The training camp marks the first action of 2022 for the USWNT, but it will not include any international matches. The USA’s first matches of the year will take place at the 2022 SheBelieves Cup against the Czech Republic (Feb. 17) and New Zealand (Feb. 20) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., and Iceland (Feb. 23) at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
