Thorns FC's Amandine Henry named to France Women's National Team roster for 2017 European Championships

PORTLAND, Ore. â€“ Portland Thorns FC midfielder Amandine Henry has been named to the France Women’s National Team roster for the 2017 European Championships in the Netherlands from July 16-Aug. 6, it was announced today.

In her second season with the club, Henry has started and played in all seven matches for Portland, tallying her first career NWSL goal in a 2-0 win against the Boston Breakers on May 27 at Providence Park.

Henry has earned 60 caps with the France, tallying six goals. In March, Henry helped guide France to the SheBelieves Cup title, starting and playing in all three matches of the tournament.

Preparations for the tournament begin with two friendlies as France plays host Belgium on July 7 and Norway on July 11. France opens group play on July 18 against Iceland before squaring off against Austria on July 22 and Switzerland on July 26. 

The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinal round July 29-30 followed by the semifinal round on Aug. 3 and the final on Aug. 6 at FC Twente Stadion in Enschede.
