PORTLAND, Ore.
- The Portland Timbers today announced that forward Chad Bartlomé, midfielder Troy Ready and defender Lee Morrison were named to the USL First Division Team of the Week.
Bartlomé earned the honors after scoring the Timbers’ first goal of the season, a 21st-minute strike against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday.
Ready’s game-winning goal in the 69th minute against the Minnesota Thunder on Saturday ensured his inclusion on the Team of the Week.
Morrison was included for his solid defensive work in both matches, where he played a holding role between midfield and defense.
The accolades were the first for Bartlomé and Ready, and the second for Morrison, who was previously selected in Week 14 of the 2004 season.
On tap for the Timbers is a trip to South Florida to take on expansion Miami FC on Friday, May 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. (Pacific).
