Four years ago today, the Portland Timbers embarked on maiden Major League Soccer campaign with their first-ever game in MLS against the Colorado Rapids. Though the result did not go the Timbers way--they lost 3-1 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.--it still marked an important date in the history of the club.

Current Timbers Jack Jewsbury and Rodney Wallace were both in the Starting XI that day with Jewsbury wearing the captain's armband. Jewsbury would go on to have a career year scoring seven goals and depositing eight assists, a run that also earned him his first ever AT&T MLS All-Star Game nod.

Timbers Army fans traveled in force to DSG Park enjoying a pre-game barbecue with their Colorado counterparts. Kells Irish Pub in Portland also hosted a massive viewing party in their downtown location.

Where were you on that day and what was your favorite memory of the Timbers first MLS season?
