PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Timbers announced today that the team’s home-opening match against the Chicago Fire on Thursday, April 14, is sold out following the opening of single-game ticket sales Monday night at JELD-WEN Field. Additionally, the team announced that a waiting list for 2012 season tickets has been established now that season tickets for its inaugural 2011 Major League Soccer (MLS) season are sold out.
Tickets for the July 10 home match against Seattle Sounders FC at JELD-WEN Field are limited, with only obstructed-view seats available. Remaining tickets for the Seattle home game go on sale this morning at the JELD-WEN Field box office only at 10 a.m.
Individual-game tickets for the remaining 15 games will be available for purchase at the JELD-WEN Field box office, Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000, also at 10 a.m. today. At this time, limited seating remains for home games against FC Dallas (April 17), New York Red Bulls (June 19), LA Galaxy (Aug. 3) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (Aug. 20).
Fans wanting to join the team’s waiting list for 2012 season tickets can do so by contacting the Timbers ticket office at (503) 553-5555. The team established a cap of 12,500 season tickets for its inaugural MLS season.
At Monday night’s event to open single-game sales, midfielder Adam Moffat, defender Mamadou “Futty” Danso and Timber Joey were on hand at JELD-WEN Field to sign autographs and greet the 1,000-plus fans in line. Papa Murphy’s provided complimentary pizza and free coffee was provided by Stumptown Coffee.
