PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers goalkeeper James Pantemis has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 22, the league announced today.

Pantemis, 29, recorded 10 saves to help the Timbers secure a point on the road with a 1-1 draw against LAFC on Saturday night. Notably, it marked the second time the Canadian goalkeeper has registered double digit saves in a single match throughout his MLS career, second best to his 13-save performance against Real Salt Lake on May 2 earlier this season. Pantemis earns his third Team of the Matchday selection in 2026 (Matchdays 5 and 11), and second selection to the first 11 (Matchday 11).

Next up, the Timbers will host Austin FC on Saturday, Aug. 29. Kickoff from Providence Park is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) on Apple TV in English and Spanish with local radio broadcasts on 105.1 FM/1080 AM The Fan (English) and La GranD 93.5 FM/1150AM (Spanish).
