PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Portland Timbers U-23s announced today the addition of local goalkeeper
Jason Dodson
to its 2009 roster. The Lake Oswego, Ore., native is available for the team’s road match Sunday against the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency.
Dodson, 18, recently graduated from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Ore., where he was an All-Three Rivers League and all-state first-team selection in 2008. Following his senior season, Dodson was named an ESPN RISE Fall Boys' Soccer All-America honorable mention.
A member of the U.S. U-18 National Team pool in 2008, Dodson accepted a soccer scholarship to attend Stanford University and will be one of six incoming recruits for the Cardinal this fall.
He has also played at the club level for Eastside United Soccer Club based in Gresham, Ore.
The Timbers U-23s play Vancouver on Sunday at Simon Fraser University at 2 p.m. The team returns home to play host to the Tacoma Tide on Sunday, June 21 at Lincoln Park Stadium in Forest Grove, Ore., at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door; gates open at 2 p.m.
With the addition of Dodson, the Timbers U-23s now have 13 Oregon natives on their roster, including forward
