PORTLAND, Ore. – T2 take to the road for their regular-season finale, facing LA Galaxy II on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.; kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
T2 (10-15-2, 32pts) close their inaugural season on Wednesday, playing the USL side of Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy at StubHub Center for the first time this year. Portland has registered a 3-8-2 away record during its inaugural campaign, scoring 13 goals on the road. In its last match, Portland could not overcome a three-goal, first-half deficit in a 3-0 loss against Sacramento Republic FC on Sept.12 at Providence Park.
Entering the week, forward Kharlton Belmar ranks tied for sixth in the league in goals (12) and tied for sixth overall with 27 points (12g, 3a). Midfielder Fatawu Safiu, who ranks fifth in the league with 67 shots, is second on T2 with seven goals this season.
T2 face LA Galaxy II (13-10-3, 42pts) for the second time this season on Wednesday. In their first meeting, T2 sustained a 1-0 loss on July 26 at Merlo Field in Portland, playing their fourth match during a busy eight-day span.
LA Galaxy II enter Wednesday’s match after suffering back-to-back 2-1 defeats on the road against Arizona United SC on Aug. 29 and Orange County Blues FC on Sept. 5. LA Galaxy II have posted a 6-4-3 overall home record, scoring 18 total goals at StubHub Center. The side is led by forward Ariel Lassiter, who ranks eighth in shots (57) and tied for eighth in goals (10) among all USL players in 19 appearances this season. Midfielder Raul Mendiola ranks tied for fourth overall in assists (8) while also tallying four goals in 17 games for Los Dos.
