On June 14, the Timbers formally introduced Joey Webber as the team's new mascot following the retirement of long-time team icon "Timber" Jim Serrill. As he jumps into his new role, Webber talks about the new transition in Video News.
Webber and Timber Jim participated in a special "changing of the guard" ceremony during halftime of the Timbers' exhibition match with Juventus Priamvera on June 14 at PGE Park. Webber had served as the team's guest mascot since the departure of Timber Jim.
Born in the timber town of Philomath, Ore., Webber, 28, attended the School of Forestry as a child and competed in state forestry and timber competitions and ranked in several events including, pole climbing, jack double bucking, fire hose relays, axe throwing, log rolling and hot saw operation.
