What's Celeste Boureille's favorite team? (Aside from the Thorns, of course)

How old were you when you started playing soccer, and how did you get into it?

I started playing when I was 11 years old and joined my first recreational soccer team shortly after. I knew I loved playing right away for the enjoyment of just being able to run around with my friends. 

What did it mean for you to play in your father’s home country of France?

It meant so much to me being able to finally play in France and experience the culture and the playing style there. I got to practice speaking French, meet family I’ve never met before, and challenge myself playing in a new environment. 

You’ve travelled all around the world for soccer, what’s been your favorite destination and why?

One of my favorite countries to play in is Australia. No surprise, that is why I’ve gone back and played in the W-League there the last four seasons. The weather, the beaches, but most of all the people I’ve met there have really made my experience amazing.

Aside from the Thorns of course, who’s your favorite team to follow and root for?

I really enjoy following the Golden State Warriors basketball team located in the Bay Area, where I’m from. 

What’s your favorite way to relax on an off day?

Favorite way to relax would have to be getting out of the city and going for a hike, swim, or paddle board.
