After a standout season in 2010 with the Portland Timbers U-23s, the Timbers’ development team, Braun was signed to the Timbers’ MLS roster on Feb. 17, 2011. Braun was an all-league midfielder for the Timbers U-23s and led the team to a historic season in United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League, which included winning the league title. He was a standout at the University of Louisville during his collegiate career.

2012: Played 31 minutes as a second-half sub Aug. 26 against the San Jose Reserves ... Started and played 90 minutes in a MLS Reserve League match against Chivas USA on July 29 ... Entered the match as a halftime sub in an exhibition against English side Aston Villa FC on July 24 ... Made his third appearance of the season July 3 against San Jose, entering the game as an 86th-minute substitute ... Started and played 90 minutes for the Timbers Reserves June 18 against the Chivas USA Reserves ... Played 90 minutes in an MLS Reserve League match June 2 against the LA Galaxy ... Played 90 minutes May 27 in an MLS Reserve League game against Vancouver ... Played 45 minutes as a halftime sub in an exhibition against Spanish club Valencia CF on May 23 ... Played 70 minutes as a 20th-minute substitute on April 28 for injured defender Steve Purdy ... Made his MLS debut on April 21 against Sporting KC, entering the match as a 78th-minute substitute ... Started in each of the team's first five MLS Reserve League matches ... On the bench as an available substitute for the first seven matches of the season.

2011: Led the Timbers with 428 minutes played in non-league matches ... Played 90 minutes in a 2-0 exhibition win over Argentina’s Independiente on July 26, at JELD-WEN Field ... Started and played 90 minutes in an exhibi­tion against the English Premier League’s West Bromwich Albion ... Started and played 83 minutes against famed Mexican side Club América on July 7 ... Scored his first goal in an MLS Reserve League game June 5 at Chivas USA ... In total, appeared in nine MLS Reserve League matches, playing 693 minutes and recording one goal ... Started and logged 120 minutes at right back in a 1-0 overtime loss to San Jose in a U.S. Open Cup play-in game May 3.

2010: Played in 16 matches (15 starts) during the regular season for the Timbers U-23s, leading the team to a perfect 16-0-0 record and the PDL championship ... Recorded five goals and eight assists during the regular season; his assists total was third-best in the league ... Added three more goals and an assist in the postseason ... Led the team to its first Northwest Division title and Western Conference championship ... Helped the Timbers U-23s become the first undefeated league champion in PDL history with a combined record of 20-0-0 during the regular season and playoffs ... Following the regular season was named to the All-Western Conference Team and PDL All-League Team ... Was a PDL Team of the Week honoree July 21.

2009: Appeared in 14 games for the Chicago Fire Premier (PDL) ... Totaled three goals and two assists in 1,112 minutes during the regular season ... Aided Chicago to a 10-1-5 regular-season record and the Great Lakes Division championship ... Helped the team to the 2009 PDL finals against the Ventura County Fusion.

COLLEGE: Was a four-year starter at the University of Louisville from 2006-09 ... Played in 81 games during his collegiate career, logging 11 goals and five assists ... Was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic team as a junior in 2008 ... As a senior in 2009, was the team’s second-lead­ing scorer with eight goals and four assists, and captained the Cardinals to a 13-3-4 record and the BIG EAST Red Division title ... Helped Louisville to three straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2007-09 ... Majored in busi­ness ... Upon the completion of his senior season, was one of 62 collegiate players invited to participate in the 2010 MLS Player Combine.
