After a standout season in 2010 with the Portland Timbers U-23s, the Timbers’ development team, Braun was signed to the Timbers’ MLS roster on Feb. 17, 2011. Braun was an all-league midfielder for the Timbers U-23s and led the team to a historic season in United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League, which included winning the league title. He was a standout at the University of Louisville during his collegiate career.

Entered the match as a halftime sub in an exhibition against English side Aston Villa FC on July 24 ... 2010: Played in 16 matches (15 starts) during the regular season for the Timbers U-23s, leading the team to a perfect 16-0-0 record and the PDL championship ... Recorded five goals and eight assists during the regular season; his assists total was third-best in the league ... Added three more goals and an assist in the postseason ... Led the team to its first Northwest Division title and Western Conference championship ... Helped the Timbers U-23s become the first undefeated league champion in PDL history with a combined record of 20-0-0 during the regular season and playoffs ...
