ACQUIRED: June 6, 2012 via trade with Philadelphia Union in exchange for forward Jorge Perlaza.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, Mwanga was one of the Philadelphia Union's top scorers in each his first two MLS seasons before joining the Timbers via trade midseason. He scored seven goals as a rookie in 2010 and was a finalist for MLS Rookie of the Year that season. Mwanga was a standout at Oregon State University and as a youth starred at North Portland's Jefferson High School.

2012: Was acquired June 6 from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for forward Jorge Perlaza ... Played in 18 games (7 starts), logged 740 minutes and scored three goals for the Timbers ... Made club debut June 17, starting and playing all 90 minutes against the LA Galaxy ...
