ACQUIRED: June 6, 2012 via trade with Philadelphia Union in exchange for forward Jorge Perlaza.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, Mwanga was one of the Philadelphia Union's top scorers in each his first two MLS seasons before joining the Timbers via trade midseason. He scored seven goals as a rookie in 2010 and was a finalist for MLS Rookie of the Year that season. Mwanga was a standout at Oregon State University and as a youth starred at North Portland's Jefferson High School.

2012: Was acquired June 6 from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for forward Jorge Perlaza ... Played in 18 games (7 starts), logged 740 minutes and scored three goals for the Timbers ... Made club debut June 17, starting and playing all 90 minutes against the LA Galaxy ... Notched his first goal of the season July 3, contributing to a 2-1 win over conference leader San Jose Earthquakes at JELD-WEN Field ... Recorded a brace Sept. 19 in a 2-2 road draw against San Jose at Buck Shaw Stadium ... It was the second two-goal performance of his career ... Was named honorable mention on the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for Week 29 ... His second goal against San Jose was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week for Week 29 ... Started three matches for the Timbers Reserves in the MLS Reserve League ... Recorded an assist on the team’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Earthquakes Reserves on Aug. 26 ... 2011: Played a total of 28 regular season games, starting 13 and logging a total of 1,535 minutes, in his second season with the Union ... Helped the club to its first MLS playoff appearance and started both of Philadelphia's postseason matches, playing 142 minutes ... Finished the season with five goals and four assists ... His assists total ranked second among team leaders ... Played in five Reserve League matches, scoring one goal and adding an assist ... Named No. 9 on MLSsoccer.com's 24-Under-24, listed among the top young players in the league ... Following the season, highlighted an 18-player roster that particiapted in a Generation adidas tour to the Netherlands.

COLLEGE: Had a standout collegiate career at Oregon State University, where he won Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2009 and the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2009 ... As a sophomore in 2009, scored a conference-best 14 goals and led the Pac-10 in multiple statistical categories, including game-winning goals (5) and goals per game (0.78) ... Became the first OSU soccer player to win conference player of the year honors ... Named NSCAA Second Team All-American and was a finalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy ... In total, compiled 18 goals and two assists in 29 collegiate matches for the Beavers.
