Zizzo was acquired by the Timbers through a trade with Chivas USA on Feb. 16, 2011, in exchange for allocation money. The attacking midfielder returned to the United States in 2010, joining Chivas USA via a weighted lottery after signing a contract with MLS. He started his profes­sional career in 2007 with Hannover 96 of the German Bundesliga after a two-year collegiate career at UCLA.
