PORTLAND, Ore.
- The Women's World Cup 2003 Organizing Committee has announced that a limited number of individual match date tickets for PGE Park's three FIFA Women's World Cup USA 2003 doubleheaders will go on sale Friday (Aug. 15) at 9 a.m. PT.
Fans can purchase tickets by logging onto FIFAworldcup.com or by calling 1-800-WWC-TIKS (992-8457). Individual match date tickets range in price from $20 to $175 depending on the stage of the three-week competition.
Discount tickets for groups of 30 or more to Portland doubleheaders will also be available starting Friday by calling the Oregon Sports Authority at 503-234-4500. To ensure their seat in the stands at the semifinals, featuring the four best teams in the world, fans can still purchase venue series tickets through this Wednesday (Aug. 13) at 11:30 p.m. PT. Venue series tickets are priced from $75 to $305 and include all matches at PGE Park, which includes first-round, quarterfinal & semifinal doubleheaders.
Portland's three Women's World Cup doubleheaders will take place at PGE Park on September 28, October 2 and 5. Action kicks off on Sunday, September 28 with the finale of Group D first-round action featuring the powerful Chinese team taking on Russia and Australia battling Ghana. Tournament action continues on Thursday, October 2, in quarterfinal action featuring the top two teams from both Group C & D. Women's World Cup action climaxes in Portland on Sunday, October 5 with a semifinal doubleheader potentially featuring the defending U.S. Women's National Team.
