PORTLAND, Ore.
- Portland Timbers midfielder Edwin Miranda was named to the A-League Team of the Week for Week 16 in recognition of solid play at Calgary and Milwaukee, it was announced Tuesday.
Miranda, a rookie from Cal State-Northridge, has appeared in six of the last seven games with the Timbers while starting in midfield at Calgary and Milwaukee last week.
Garnering the honor for the first time, Miranda joins several other Timbers who have been included on the Team of the Week this season, including Byron Alvarez, Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar (2), Alan Gordon (4), Aaron Heinzen, Lee Morrison, Jake Sagare, Josh Saunders and Gavin Wilkinson.
