PORTLAND, Ore.
– Portland Timbers striker Alan Gordon has been loaned to the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer for the remainder of the 2004 season, it was announced Saturday.
"We're very excited for Alan and the opportunity play for the Los Angeles Galaxy,” said Timbers general manager Jim Taylor. “He had an outstanding rookie season and obviously his accomplishments caught the attention of MLS. We wish him all the best.”
Gordon finished his rookie season as the co-Goal Scoring Champion with 17 strikes on the year. Recently named to the A-League’s first team, he was a three-time A-League Player of the Week and leveled two hat tricks in his first professional campaign.
