PORTLAND, Ore.
- Portland Timbers midfielder-defender Edwin Miranda was named to the USL First Division’s Team of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
The Timbers, who are unbeaten in their last 15 regular-season contests, have featured a player on the weekly honor roll every week thus far in 2005.
Miranda, 24, earns a spot on this week’s Team of the Week after playing a solid 90 minutes in the Timbers’ 1-0 victory over the Charleston Battery last Thursday at PGE Park.
Miranda was named the First Division Player of the Week on May 3.
The Timbers are in the midst of a 16-day break in action before playing host to the Virginia Beach Mariners on Saturday, May 28 at PGE Park. Tickets for the match are available at area Ticketmaster outlets and at the PGE Park box office.
