PORTLAND, Ore.
– Portland Timbers defender Scot Thompson was honored as a member of the USL First Division’s Team of the Week for Week 13, it was announced today.
Thompson, 24, earned the award after tallying his second goal of the season in a 1-1 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday, July 14 at PGE Park.
It was the second time in three weeks Thompson has garnered the honor.
The Timbers play host to Sunderland AFC of the English Premier League this Saturday, July 23, at PGE Park before returning to league play in August.
Kickoff for the exhibition is 7 p.m. (Pacific).
