PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Portland Timbers today signed midfielder Mike Chabala and forward Yuri Morales.

Chabala spent his college career at the University of Washington, where he was a co-captain in his senior season.
Morales, 24, joins the Timbers after a recent trial with DC United of MLS. Before that, Morales spent two years in Denmark, where he played with Olstykke FC and Viborg FF.
In college, Morales played at the University of Massachusetts, where he served as a captain in his senior year (2002).
Both players were in uniform for tonight’s match at Virginia Beach.
