Timbers midfielder Luke Kreamalmeyer named All-League

PORTLAND, Ore.
– Portland Timbers midfielder Luke Kreamalmeyer was selected to the USL First Division’s All-League First Team, it was announced by United Soccer Leagues today.

Kreamalmeyer was named to the team after being selected by the league’s coaches and general managers in a post-season vote.

Kreamalmeyer tied a Timbers single-season record by appearing in all 28 of the team’s regular-season matches this season, amassing 2,380 minutes on the field in the process. Kreamalmeyer also led the team in goals (8) and points (16), while finishing tied for 10th in the league in goals and tied for 13th in points.

“It is such a great honor to receive this award,” said Kreamalmeyer. “To be named among all of these great players in this league is very humbling. I never would have gotten this award if it wasn’t for having a great team around me this season.”

A former Bradley University standout, Kreamalmeyer, 23, spent the 2005 season with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer (MLS). There, he appeared in six games and made two starts for the first team. Prior to joining Real Salt Lake, Kreamalmeyer spent time with the Chicago Fire Reserves and the St. Louis Strikers of the Premier Development League, where he tallied a combined 11 goals and 12 assists.
