The Portland Timbers will be holding an invitation-only tryout camp at PGE Park on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., it was announced today.
The tryout camp is open to players 18 years of age or older. Interested players must submit a request for an invitation application to Brad Nicholson at bnicholson@pgepark.com and include playing history (along with any awards and accolades), preferred position(s) and vital statistics.
DATE:
Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21, 2007
TIME:
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (one-hour break at noon). Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
LOCATION:
PGE Park; 1844 SW Morrison; Portland, OR 97205. Enter Gate 35 – 18th Ave. ramp behind Multnomah Athletic Club.
FEE:
$75 for all participants. Cash, money order and credit card are accepted.
HOTEL:
Participants who do not have suitable accommodation while staying in Portland can select to have a reservation made at the Timbers’ official team hotel (Doubletree Hotel – Portland Lloyd Center) for an additional nightly fee. Please note that the Timbers will make all reservations on the participants’ behalf.
TRYOUT DETAILS:
Players need to bring their own soccer equipment, including turf shoes, jogging shoes, shin guards and other soccer apparel. Each player must wear a white t-shirt. The Timbers will provide ice, water, and medical supervision. Players will be evaluated by the Timbers coaching staff.
