Timbers to broadcast all 28 matches online in 2007

The Portland Timbers will broadcast each of their 28 USL First Division matches live at
www.portlandtimbers.com
in 2007, it was announced today. Play-by-play broadcaster
Andy McNamara
returns for his seventh season with the club to call the action.




"We are pleased to be able to broadcast all of our 28 matches this year,” said
Gavin Wilkinson
, head coach and general manager of the Timbers. “Now, fans can listen to each of our games while we are away and keep up on how the team is doing during our road trips.”

Serving as the voice of the Timbers since 2001, McNamara brings more than 18 years of play-by-play experience to the team’s broadcasts. Prior to joining the Timbers, McNamara was the play-by-play announcer for the University of Portland soccer program and spent time as a color commentator for the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Cup.




Broadcasts begin April 21when the Timbers play host the Puerto Rico Islanders at PGE Park to kick off the USL First Division season. A variety of season ticket options are available by calling the Timbers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
