Timbers playoff tickets go on sale Aug. 23

The Portland Timbers announced today that tickets for their first-round, home playoff match will go on sale to the public on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. Portland clinched a spot in the 2007 USL First Division playoffs with a come-from-behind 2-2 draw against the Minnesota Thunder on Thursday.
Playoff tickets, starting at $12, will be available through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com and by phone at (503) 224-4400.
A date for Portland’s first-round playoff match and an opponent will be announced by the United Soccer League at a later date.
Convenient and affordable packages for groups of 15 or more people are available through the Timbers’ ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
Timbers season ticket holders should contact ticket representative Dan Zusman to take advantage of special discounts on postseason tickets.
The Timbers advanced to the postseason for the fifth time in their seven seasons since joining the USL First Division in 2001. Portland’s last trip to the playoffs was in 2005, suffering a first-round loss to the Seattle Sounders.
The USL First Division playoffs begin on Sept. 14, with the first two rounds consisting of a two-game, aggregate-goal series. The 2007 USL First Division champion will be determined in a one-game final hosted by one of the two finalists.
Undated regular-season vouchers and all special-offer coupons are not redeemable and are void for all Timbers playoff games.
The Timbers host Jersey-Off-Our-Backs Night at PGE Park on Aug. 23 as they battle the Charleston Battery in the final home match of the regular-season. Fans have opportunity to take home a player-worn, autographed Timbers jersey through a silent bid held before and during the game. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The first 2,000 fans on Aug. 23 will receive Timbers caps courtesy of Volkswagen.
